Dearest God,
We entered the sanctuary with heavy hearts, having experienced yet another sorrowful family incident. Washed over by waves of sadness, our eyes lifted to see the banners. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." "My grace is sufficient for thee." Both messages spoke deeply to our souls. But for me your spirit swept in when our choir sang, "Wash My Feet".
"Why would my Master, Lord, and King kneel to do this amazing thing? He washed my feet; he washed my feet." As I sang I could hardly hold back the tears. I realized again just how much you do for us. When we are least worthy, you kneel down and wash our dusty, grimy, pitiful feet. You hold the filth, the ache, and the wayward feet who walk not always on the straight path. What love comes to us. What mercy meets us at the point of our need!
As we walked out of the sanctuary in silence I let the message speak and all I could say inside my heart of hearts was, "Thank you, thank you, thank you."
Gracious, Loving God,
thank you
for touching
our hearts,
minds, and souls
with your message
of compassion.
You blessed us
when we needed blessing.
Thank you,
thank you,
thank you.
Love, Andrea
