Dear God,
Yesterday, I left my home to breathe some fresh air of your spirit. I grabbed a CD entitled Country Gospel. At first I listened to Amazing Grace, what a way to start a drive, then How Great Thou Art, a song to sing to give thanks for grace. On and on the singers sang in their country twang, yet, those words reached down deep into my soul.
"When Christ shall come with shout and acclamation and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart," the singer sang, and suddenly time stopped and I had this instant vision of me standing before God in heaven. God asked, "Do you remember that time when you stepped into 25 Pleasant Street?" I knew exactly what God was saying. "Yes," I replied. He went on, "I used that opportunity to refine and purify you." At once my heart filled with gratitude and joy. I realized once again just how compassionate you are. What others mean for evil, you can use for good.
Holy and Loving God,
who would not bow
before you
after such gifts
were given?
Who would
not want
to stand
and shout out
your glory?
Who would not want
to fall
at your feet
and give praise?
Yours forever, Andrea
