Dear God

Sometimes we draw hard lines dividing what was two into one, one person from another person, one nation from another, or one group from another.  We separate ourselves firmly by a hard line.  The hard line keeps us from crossing over.  We are reminded we are no longer part of one another.  We speak our own language, create our own practices, and make our own way separately.

But a soft line...a soft line gives space for us to meet at the line and talk, maybe even cross over occasionally, share and listen, give and take.  A soft line eventually can be erased by a little spirit breeze.

On my way to church this morning I thought of lines, lines I have drawn, lines others have made, lines that can be blown away.

With you,
Heavenly Father,
there are
no lines.
Thank you
for making it easy
for us
to come
to you.

Love, Andrea
