Dear God,

Although the light always comes in the midst of the darkness, the night giving way to the day, there is always such beauty, magnificence, and power with it.  As we consider the life of faith, we are startled, thrilled, and humbled each time light arrives in our own personal darkness.  When it does, it overwhelms us.

On this July 4 night when light displays are everywhere, we get to really reflect upon the wonder of light.  Blues, greens, reds, whites, yellow, silver, and gold rise and titillate the human soul.  We see firsthand the amazing way light touches and warms us.  We are awed by the one who created light, not on its own but in the midst of black darkness.  We marvel at your power to create, to transform, and to make beautiful.  You do this inside us to make a deep connection to you and the natural world.
Your love shines through and we are blessed, so very blessed.
