Dear God,

To be in your presence is a reminder how you live among us every moment of every day.  So often, Lord, we search and search for you and walk away disappointed.  We pray for your coming.  We ask you to draw near.  Sometimes desperate we fall to our knees and cry out for help.  What we don't realize is you are the breeze, the breath of life.  There is no place where you are not.

When we quiet ourselves and sit before you, all we need do is thank you for your spirit and remember the words of your own son who said, "...and lo, I will be with you always even to the end of the age." There is no clearer picture than his promise.  Although we may not see or hear you in the way in which we are looking, you are still with us in the breath we draw.

As we reflect daily on human living, help us surrender our need for great gifts and teach us just to breathe the air of your love.

Gracious God,
thank you
for compassion
that is always
with us.
Teach us
to recognize you
in the
smallest of things.
Show us
the way
to gratitude.

Love, Andrea
