Dearest God,
The gentle rain came down on our tent and I knew you were nourishing the land we call home. The ground was thirsty, having gone weeks without a good rain. The knowledge of your touch caused me to pray.
How dry our souls become when we go for long periods of time without living water. Parched without spiritual rain, we can grow lifeless, limp, and without energy. We can lose focus and spiritual energy. We can so easily give in to temptation or inertia.
But when the rain of heaven comes, we are revived. We drink in the vital life source and we feel renewed from the inside out. We awaken to the divine who is the center source of our faith. We feel strength return to us as we drink. Restored we turn to you, the giver of life.
Almighty God,
thank you
for spiritual rain,
for living water,
for the source
of life.
Thank you
for quenching
our thirst.
Thank you
for reminding us
who you are,
Love, Anerea
