Dearest God,

Today the light of faith burned brightly at Second Presbyterian Church.  As my grandchildren filed into the pew and took their seats, I watched as they fully engaged in the hymns, the prayers, and the message.  They listened, even anticipated the events as they unfolded.  I watched my beloved be touched, moved, and inspired by faith.

What greater gift is there than this?  Faith that comes together to sing, to pray, to listen, to greet with signs of peace, and to worship is a wondrous occasion particularly at Advent when the air is pregnant with anticipation of the spirit's presence.  As we breathe in faith and breathe out faith, we participate in your son's living spirit.  We bless you and one another.  We radiate the light of faith because faith is in us, living and breathing in and out of us.

What gift this Advent is, what blessing!

Your light shines,
O Lord;
it radiates
in your church
and in
your people.
Thank you
for the blessing
of your light.
Let it glow
in us
so that
we too
will be beacons
of faith
for others.

Love always, Andrea
