Dear God,

Thank you for the early morning quiet.  Thank you for the early morning darkness.  Thank you for this sacred time when we may enter into the holy of holies and dwell there with you.

Whether we are alone and lonely or full of celebration, special moments with you give perspective on our days and our living.  We walk through hallowed halls and there we engage in the joy of faith.  We breathe in light and joy and gladness.  We see ourselves with the One who cares more than all the rest.  We understand life from your view.  We see how faith can lead us higher and higher.  And the air, the air of majesty and wonder fill not only our lungs but our whole being.  We shiver with the joy of eternity.
