Dearest God,
Stepping inside ancient Galilee, watching and listening as the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth unfolds, and then to witness Mary and the angel Gabriel is thrilling! This morning as I read the account from the gospel of Luke, a smile spread wide across my face. I could see joy, bewilderment, amazement, hope, and lots and lots of grace.
Always during the week of Christmas I reread the stories again. I read them because I want to step inside their lives, their faith, and their hope. I want to be one who stands with them and shares their joy. I want to increase my hope, grow my love, and recharge my faith. Then I want to bless others as Zechariah, Elizabeth, Mary, Gabriel, and Luke bless mine and so many million others.
Let faith fly,
Great God,
let it fly.
May the light
of faith
pierce the darkness
of all
those whose
light has dimmed.
Let faith fly
to the
whole earth
giving hope
and peace
a chance,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
