Dear God,
How can we be 100% content with our own lives when there are 60 million refugees in the world? How can we rest well with full bellies, medicines in our cabinets, and clean water in our faucets? How can we purchase more clothing when our closets are full and not think of those who have just what is on their backs?
You made us part and parcel of one another. You made us as one human community. You put us all on one planet that no one owns. You made us to consider one another, to help one another, and to reach out. You did not make us an island unto ourselves.
Show us
the way
to one another,
O Lord.
Point the way
to compassionate love.
Thank you
for discontent
that reminds us
of our neighbors,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
