Dear God,

How we welcome the light when it comes.  When in darkness, we stumble and fall.  We are afraid.  We cannot see our way.  But when the light of day comes, you come with it.

I love to write when it is still dark out.  The glass windows surround me in my little room.  In the early morning all I can see is darkness except for the sparkle of twinkling stars in the sky.  Sometimes while I write, the darkness eases back because the light has penetrated it.  It seems a miracle every morning.

The images of light and darkness are powerful because they always have a profound message of faith.  When we sit in darkness, we long for the light.  But when the light comes, we begin to see all the light reveals and what delight fills our soul.  We see things that are there all along.  We find you once again.

Holy God,
thank you
for holding both,
the darkness
and the light.
Thank you
for speaking
to us
of faith
and hope.
Thank you
for the miracle.

Love, Andrea
