Dear God,

Every day is a new beginning, a fresh start, a blank slate, a day to write a new story.  The day is a gift!

This morning, O Lord, you awakened my granddaughter Sophie and me at the same time.  As we waved to one another from my wall bed and her couch, we smiled.  We realized that sunrise in Myrtle Beach was just minutes away so we moved to the balcony overlooking the ocean.  We turned and looked toward the east and slowly we watched the darkness turn to dusk and the dusk to light.  We gazed upon that giant yellow ball appear ever so small on the horizon and then begin to rise, Sophie clicking off a time progression as it rose fully, spreading shiny rays on the water.  What beauty, awesome beauty.

It was a brand new day for Sophie and for me, for everyone on the planet, a gift from you.
