Dear God,

It is so easy to drop our eyes downward to see troubles, to believe all is lost, and to follow a common pattern of doubt, hopelessness, and despair.  The darkness we experience causes us to believe there is no light.  We walk day to day with no real purpose, dream, or goal.  We drag on, weary as we go.

But with just a slight shift, raising our eyes heavenward we are enabled to see the light shining through the darkness.  We can feel the sun's rays on our shoulders.  Our eyes are open to a world of color, hope, and possibility.  We see you.

Life can weigh us down making us believe that is all there is.  However, an ounce of faith can boost our morale, increase our thirst for living water, and make us new.  There are those who have trusted in you, O Lord, and have risen up from the dead to live purposeful lives.  They have found joy bubbling over like a fountain.  They have discovered peace and direction, courage and strength, wisdom and mercy.  In finding you they have found themselves.

Merciful God,
thank you
for tender mercies.
Thank you
for lifting us.
Thank you
for reminding us
to look up.

Love, Andrea
