Dear God,

You make us clean once again after we have dallied with darkness or sin or anything that has kept us from you.  When we go to the far country and find ourselves stuck in situations of our own making, we make ourselves unclean.  We know it.  We feel it.  We want to be cleansed, more than soap and water and repentance can do for us.  We want to be rid of that final layer of whatever that keeps us from being clean and pure in your sight.

There is nothing, no one who can rid us of dark blots.  Your cleansing power, your healing waters can clean like nothing else.  When we stand before you and allow you to wash us, we experience a spiritual cleansing that refreshes, renews, and replenishes us.  Your light shines on us to warm us, fill us, and make us new.  In that light our hearts are changed.  Our minds are transformed.  Our bodies find peace we so long for.
