Dear God,

You fill us with yourself, O Lord, as we sit with your word in the bible, devotions, and prayer.  As we make space for you, you come with insight, wisdom, hope, faith, joy, and peace.

I don't even remember consciously deciding to read The Broken Way, The Bible, and Then Sings My Soul for my morning devotionsOne day I just realized I was immersed in the three.

As I begin my morning in the study, seated in my mother's old blue chair, I find myself crawling inside the stories.  I sit with Ann Voskamp sharing her brokenness and how sharing that brokenness can heal us.  Then I open the bible and listen to Jesus as he talks about fasting, divorce, and healing.  Finally, I listen to composers who penned incredible hymns as they faced great challenges.  In each of these I hear your voice.

Speak to me, Lord;
tell me stories
of faith.
Make me
a devotee
of faith,
and love,
and grace.
Make me
a witness
to your power
and love.

Always, Andrea
