Dear God,
You write love on every heart. You squeeze it into our DNA. You place love there in the soft place because you stamp every child with part of you.
So much of life we run away. We run toward this and that. Something sparks our imagination and we run toward it. When conflict comes, when uncertainty breaks into our certainty, or fear grabs hold, often we run toward things we think will hold us but they don't, not really. Maybe for a minute, a moment, a day but they will crumble because nothing is stronger or connected more deeply than your love, eternity's love. We forget your love is already with us. We forget you are embedded in us just as we are embedded in you. We forget we need not run at all.
When we recognize your love, when we fall forward toward you, or when we call upon your name, love takes hold, really takes hold. It is as if there is One calling, "That's my child, that's one of my own."
No matter what shakes us, no matter what attempts to overtake us, no matter what claims us, we are yours. Your name is written on our heart. We will always belong to you, children of the heavenly father.
Loving God,
thank you
for writing
your name
on our souls.
Thank you
for blessing us
with hope
like no other.
Thank you
for love
that goes deep,
really, really deep.
Love, Andrea
