Dear God,

Amazing!  Astounding!  These words describe your work in our lives today.  You connected the dots, the emotional, psychological, and spiritual dots of our lives.  You lead us to explore and examine the depths and there you showed us the truth that sets people free.  Through tears, prayers, and compassion, you guided us down the paths to hope and freedom.

Twice a year you direct us on retreat.  You plant our feet on solid ground and then move us up and down, sideways and sometimes backwards.  You reveal missing parts and direct us to the well of living water.  You feed us holy food that satisfies.  You invite us to drink until we have our fill.  You challenge us to do the hard stuff, to wander into the places that hurt so that you might heal us and guide us into the future.  You speak your words of comfort and remind us to trust you, to take courage, and to be strong.  You walk with us until finally you point us to a place of rest where you hold us following the journey.
