Dear God,
A recent picture of my oldest daughter sits on my desk, a gift given to me at Christmas. She smiles a beautiful smile.
For thirteen years she was lost to me. Only by faith could I ever have imagined her return. I clung to your side because nowhere else could I feel hope. I prayed. I surrendered. I wept. I trusted. I prayed again. One day she returned. It was over. We never discussed all the whys; it was just over.
Some situations leave us feeling helpless, without power to resolve, to heal, or to find peace. In those times you are our all in all, Lord. You awaken us in the morning with a song of hope. You instill within us the promise of your living presence. You walk with us all day long. You whisper help and guidance. At night you settle in with us and watch over us even in our dreams. You bless us beyond imagination. You save us.
Blessed Lord,
thank you
for the gift
that keeps on giving.
Thank you
for my daughter.
I shall always
glorify your name.
Love, Andrea
