Dearest Lord,

This morning I sang the old hymn, "More Love to Thee, O Christ", written by Elizabeth Prentiss in 1856.  As I listened to the words of the poem you showed me how important love is.  The more we love you, the more love we have for the world.

When our capacity for love grows, we become more compassionate.  We think of others more.  We want to reach out, to help, and to assist others.  We want to give.  We want to be merciful.  We become more kind and understanding.  In other words we grow into grace and mercy.

We change when we love and we lead others in the same direction.  Love is meant to change, transform us.  In transforming ourselves we have the opportunity to transform the world around us.

Holy, Mystical God,
create in us
the ability
to love more.
Help us
really love you
and others.
Transform us
into lovers
who make
a difference.
Move us
to love others
so release
and relief
may come
setting people free.

Love always, Andrea
