Dear God,

They sing like angels, their music a mystical sweet reunion with the Lord of their faith.  On our last day of retreat we joined the monastic community for morning prayer.  During the liturgy we read responsively and sang the psalms.  It felt as if we had entered heaven and had the beautiful opportunity to sing with the angels and saints.

You give us so many chances to walk the walk, talk the talk, and live the faith.  You are always revealing the mysteries of creation, humanity, and the miraculous qualities of grace.  You touch us, yes, touch us.  You touch our minds giving us time to shift our thoughts, misconceptions, and shallow understandings.  You touch our hearts, releasing emotions that have held us captive.  You touch our spirits setting us free to soar on wings of eagles.  You touch our souls equipping us with power from on high, compassion to help others, and loving mercy that heals, helps and holds.

As we stood to leave at the conclusion of the service, we bowed to the altar acknowledging the goodness of the Lord.

Most Loving God,
thank you
for blessing us
so well.
Thank you
for inspiring us
to draw closer
to you.
Thank you
for gifts
equipping us
to bless others.

Love, Andrea
