Dear God,

Why do we threaten one another?  Why do we attempt to take that which is not ours?  Why do we ruin, hinder, and terrorize each other?

Our world seems bent on destroying itself!  We behave as bullies horrifying the most vulnerable people.  We act as evil doers determined to hurt others!  We forget we have been made in your image.  We ignore your commandment to love one another.  We manipulate the truth to serve ourselves.  We set aside the reality that we are your children, loved by a heavenly father.

Forgive us, Lord; forgive us.  Show us the way to love, grace, and mercy.  Remake us anew.

We have failed
to love you
and failed
to love
one another.
We deserve
to be cursed
but by
your own word
we are loved.
Refresh our spirits,
return us home,
to the
father's house
so we
may remember
our first love.
