Dear God,

Joy erupts and spills over when I witness the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly, more namely a granddaughter who goes from darkness to the light, finding her own way out of her dark, dark cocoon.  Your light always shines inviting us into its warmth, its hope, and its wisdom.  She pushed and prodded herself out into the light.

It is so difficult to watch pain and sorrow continue day after day after day.  When someone, any one of us, drags the darkness around, it is hard to find the light our self.  But when seemingly out of nowhere a loved one emerges from the deep and rises up and up, gratitude and joy fill our soul.

Today as I stepped off the plane, walked through the terminal, and caught a glimpse of my granddaughter, I recognized your light shining through her.  Hallelujah!

God of Loving Grace,
thank you
for the gift
of conversion,
of transformation,
of change
that comes
when we
take hold
of you hand.
Thank you
for blessings
that come
when we
trust you.
Thank you
for rescuing
my beloved granddaughter.

Love always, Andrea
