Dear God,
You do amazing things to draw us to you! Tonight at choir rehearsal, a guest musician, a clarinetist, began playing the opening notes of a hymn we were about to sing when suddenly I saw morning creation unfold and form before my eyes...the quiet, the dark, the light beginning to show, the birds composing their songs, tiny insects skittering upon the earth. I was awash with wonderment.
How can we not know you? How can we not see you? How can we not hear you? Daily you reveal yourself to us. You use every means to communicate with your beloved children. You whisper, you shout, you sing to us. But we are not always open or ready or desirous and we miss rich opportunities to commune with you.
You bless us, Lord, with yourself. How can we not praise you all day long?
Ever-Creating God,
we give thanks
for your majesty,
your presence,
and your mercy.
We are mystified
by all
the ways
you speak
to us.
You show us
your love
every day.
Thank you,
Holy One,
thank you.
Love, Andrea
