Dear God,

A solo voice can take us to the heights but voices in three-part harmony can give to us the richness of sound, faith, and love.  As our choir sang Indescribable and Blessed Be the Name, it was beautiful not to hear just one voice but many voices sounding like one in praise and thanksgiving.

So often we think one is the best number as long as it is my one.  My voice, my thoughts, my opinions, my reflections, and my perspective.  However, when we circle round and listen, really listen to the voices in the circle, we can become one in a fresh, new way.  Somehow Jesus appears in this community and suddenly we are richer, more hospitable, and more valuable than before.  This community inspiration leads us to realize we are but one voice, not the voice of many.

When we awaken ourselves to your spirit, daily you teach us life lessons.  Listen, you ask, listen and really hear.  Look, you ask, look and really see.  You are the awakener, the source of life, and the inspiration to look and see all that is around us.

Blessed Lord,
thank you
for the lessons
of faith.
Thank you
for speaking
to us.
Thank you
for inviting us
into your circle.
