Dear God,
Others have so much to teach us. They are our mentors, coaches, friends, teachers, and sometimes perfect strangers. As we daily anticipate your presence, we can expect to find you often in them. A stranger's gesture of compassion toward another person can teach us about mercy. A mentor's model of humility can show us the way to humble ourselves. A teacher's presentation of facts of history can provide for us the reality that we are not know-it-all's but rather students for a lifetime. You come into our midst teaching us the lessons of life.
As I reflect upon these "God" examples in my own life, several people come to mind. The love they showed me helps me realize I do little to nothing to receive such beautiful gifts. The blessings they offered have helped shaped me and you know how much reshaping I need. For every one of them, I give thanks.
Gracious God,
you come often
blessing us
with kind
and loving people.
You speak
to us
through them.
Your love
knows no end
and to
that end,
I give praise.
Love, Andrea
