Dear God,

My, how we need witnesses to true faith, those who follow the lead of Jesus to love one another, be the light, and serve those in need.  How can we go wrong if we commit and practice these three things?  There is no judgement in loving one another, being the light, and serving needy people.  We don't have to size anyone up in order to love, be light, and serve.  You showed us the way; all we need do is follow.

How many people have loved us?  Imagine all those who pray intentionally for us but also all those who pray blanket prayers for all people around the world.  We are loved by everyone who prays.  And you, Holy Father, love us the most.  How many world citizens have shined the light so we might find the journey path?  Those who love most are the ones who shine the most brightly.  They radiate warmth and light giving us cause to find our own inner peace and hope.  Finally, how many have served us?  From doctors, nurses, and midwives who tended to us as newborns to teachers who taught us as children to neighbors who befriended us to caregivers who attended us when we were ailing, aging, or dying, so many have served us.

Each day if we determined to love just one person, to shine our light on one, or to serve one, we might change our world.  In fact, our commitment might just change ourselves.

Loving God,
thank you
for being
light, love,
and servant.
Through so many
you have given us much.
Inspire us
to be
all these things
that we
may do
our part
to save
the world
and ourselves,
we pray.

Love, Andrea
