Dear God,
Mercy, so sweet, so kind, so gentle, so loving, so full of grace. I read the words of Pope Francis whose ministry is all about mercy and I realize the depth of mercy once again.
How merciful you are with your people, O Lord. You pour your mercy upon us when we sin, when we stray, when we are lost, when we fear, and when we forget. Your mercy awakens us in the morning and puts us to bed at night.
When we recognize how merciful you are, we hear the call to be merciful to others. Only when we are merciful to those who seem the least worthy of it do we see ourselves in clear review. We too are recalcitrant children who do not deserve mercy and yet are given it.
Blessed Redeemer,
thank you
for mercy
that drips
from your hand.
Thank you
for blessing us
so well.
Thank you
for challenging us
to be merciful
like you.
Love, Andrea
