Dear God,

At 5:00 a.m. I peered out my hotel window to find snow blowing side ways in the mountains.  Everything told me to stay put, to remain inside and to rest.  Severe weather warnings of high winds, blowing snow and cold temperatures reinforced the message.  And so I did.

All day long I cherished the quiet time with you.  I napped, threw on clothes over my pjs just long enough to drive 30 seconds to the restaurant to pick up some food.  I gave my body time to recover from working long days before I left home for the drive to Indiana and from driving 562 miles to Pennsylvania.  Throughout the day I reflected upon how you call us to rest in you, to trust you to bless our weary bodies and minds when we need it and to let you do your healing work.  I was not disappointed to stay an additional night.

Holy God,
thank you
for your
sweet companionship.
Thank you
for your
quiet mercy.
Thank you too
for important messages
and the desire
to listen
and follow.

Love always, Andrea
