Dear God,
What drives us to kill one another? Why are we bent on destruction? What lives inside us that compels us to injure, damage and destroy?
I don't understand, Lord, I don't understand. Is there some DNA flaw that causes us to do horrible things? Are we innately inferior humans who only want to rise to the top no matter what it takes to get there? Do we want to win at all costs? Must we always find an enemy?
How can any of this be true if we are made in your image, given shape by your hands?
O God of Holy Hands,
how far
must we fall
before we realize
what we
have become?
Cleanse us,
Loving Father,
make us clean.
Remake, reshape,
reconstruct and renew us,
I pray
for the sake
of the
whole world.
Love, Andrea
