Dear God,

Every day in America we hear bad news.  We hear about conflict in Washington, in neighborhoods and in homes.  We have become an anxious people.  We keep waiting for the other shoe to drop because that is what happens when we believe bad news only.

But then sometime during the day we remember the good news, the good news of faith, of Jesus, of love and grace and mercy. Such news replaces our despair with hope, our darkness with your light and our fear with faith.  Peace comes because we know the good news is always true.

Heavenly Father,
keep us focused
on the
good news
instead of
bad news.
Raise our eyes
to faith.
Teach us
to trust
more and more.
