Dear God,

The trees are so obedient to your spirit.  They grow when you say "grow."  They reach upward when you invite them to stretch upward.  They bud and blossom when you say so.  They turn color when you invite them to display their glory and yours.  But here is the best part: They surrender when you say "let go."

I wish I were that obedient.  I wish I were that faithful.  I wish I wanted what you want more than what I desire.  The trees are teachers.

Holy and Living God,
teach us
to be obedient.
Teach us
to follow your will.
Teach us
to be all
we can be,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
