Dear God,

"O Come, O Come Emmanuel," is the call of my heart right now.  I long for the freshness of new birth.  Although my life is good, I want a faith that is ever growing.

One of the reasons I love this season is because I love Christmas carols that call us to a pilgrim journey.  I love the idea of movement, moving from where we are to where we can travel.  Yes, the destination is to Bethlehem, a stable and a manger, but part of the great joy is the journey itself.  I will welcome the new life waiting in the manger but I want to do my part to get ready, to open myself more deeply, love more and reach out to others more.  I want to reshape myself to be a more ready vessel in which Jesus can come and find a welcome home.

as usual.

for you.
