Dear God,
All along the drive from Indiana to Maine, scene after magical scene flew by. Creation at its finest was on display and I found myself saying aloud, "This is beautiful, so very beautiful." All day long
I felt blessing after blessing as I drove through the states of Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Often we think very little of our surroundings. We forget you created what is just outside our door or window. We forget the majestic way you forged new life. We fail to remember how you created seasons so that no scene is repeated, yet replayed year after year. We are so distracted by our busy lives that we ignore what is just inches from us, a whole display of wonder, amazement and joy.
But not today. I watched it all and whispered prayers of thanksgiving and gratitude. I smiled, even sang as I drove along. It was stupendous, a magnificent gift and I am so grateful.
Thank you,
Holy God,
for the gifts
outside our door.
Every day
you bless
with creation.
Teach us
to pause
and give thanks.
Love, Andrea
