Dear God,
When life seems dark and things are going astray, you call us from nature to speak to us of life and death, of doubt and certainty and of fear and love. Through your creation we learn life lessons all the while the birds sing their amazing songs.
One only has to look at your creation to know such things, O Lord. The color and texture and sounds and movement and beauty all scream of holy order and goodness. A simple flower dancing in the wind can touch and move the human heart. We may be grieving or suffering but that one gesture of creation can still a restless heart. The song of one bird can cause us to pause and revel in your majestic display of your creation. Together they offer an exquisite picture of your power and mercy at work.
Holy and Living God,
thank you
for creation
and all
its beauty.
Thank you
for its
life lessons.
Thank you
for graciously
giving us
what we need
in our time
of confusion,
chaos and suffering.
Love always, Andrea
