Dear God,

She weighed 10 lbs. 10 1/2 oz. and was 22 1/2" long.  Fifty years ago you birthed in me my middle daughter Jennifer.  What joy came with her birth!  The years have flown by but not without a daily prayer of thanksgiving for her.

You give us rich gifts, O God.  You bless us with family and love and joy.  You give us opportunity to share our lives in ways we never could have without each other.  You make us smile, laugh and dance when we come together.  You give us tears for each other when life turns sad, difficult and painful.  You weave us together for all time.  Although we may be apart for whatever reason, the bond remains.

Today on this glorious day of celebration, I give thanks once again.  May you be blessed, O God, by my prayer of thanksgiving and for my daughter's faith in you.

Heavenly Father.

for joy unspeakable

and for gifts

that never end.
