Dear God,

Sometimes conviction comes as a real gift.  I had fallen into a slump of deceit in my own soul.  Deceit in the way of falling out of favor with you who loves all without condition.   My sin:  I can't stand the current president and every time he lies, chides or abuses I get angry and call him names.  Today you whispered to me and I realized my own failure.

Conviction and correction are not bad things.  In fact more often than not they are good, good things, good for us and good for you.  Conviction comes with love and so does correction.  When you see we need a change in our life course, you whisper our name, give us a nudge or sometimes even cause us to stumble.  That's only because we didn't catch the whisper or the nudge and we needed a little more.

Today I caught the whisper and was glad.

Teach me
your way,
Compassionate God.
Sometimes I
wander aimlessly
and forget
where and who
I am.
Thank you
for calling
my name.
I knew
your voice.

Love, Andrea
