Dear God,
This morning as I ate a section of my South African grapefruit, juice dripped down my chin. Immediately I worked my tongue to catch it. When I finished my last one, I drank the juice that had accumulated in the bowl and then licked it clean. There is no doubt about it; I love grapefruit.
It wasn't just the juicy fruit I enjoyed, it was thinking how you created a huge multitude of good things to eat. And why? Why not just manna, meat and water? No, you thought of everything...taste, texture, feel, color and beauty. I can't eat grapefruit with eyes closed, juice dripping down my chin and every taste bud on alert without thinking of you, your gift, your love, your kindness and your creativity.
Thank you,
Creator God,
for all
the gifts
of life.
Thank you
for grapefruit
and all
who grow it.
Thank you
for all things
that direct us
back to you.
Love, Andrea
