Dear God,
Why is it always a fight of his way over her way? Why do we not automatically seek your way? My way is not always the best way. In fact sometimes my way is not best at all. But neither is his. What a silly battle when the only way is your way.
So often we make life all about ourselves: my perspective, my beliefs, my thoughts, my practices, my this and that. We forget we are not the center of the universe or the cosmos. As St. Paul said, "Now we see in a mirror darkly but then face to face." Part of what he meant was we see only partly, just a piece of the truth. You see the whole, all of it. So why would we expect the world to buy only a partial truth when through you we can know more?
Lead us
to your way,
O God
for your way
is the
only way.
Forgive me
when I
want only
my way.
Teach me
to bend,
to lean
toward you
every time.
Love, Andrea
