Dear God,

What joy filled our hearts as my daughter and I caught sight of Lori, my cousin.  We had flown to Florida to bring Christmas cheer to Lori and her husband Steve.  You gave her a new heart in July, her old one failing.  A very generous man donated his heart when he died in a car accident.

As we talked together, we marveled that Lori was here.  Doctors had given her a year to live, and that time would have been up about this time.  But here she was sharing happily with us.  Her laughter and joy were such a welcome sight and sound.  All we could do was smile.

We are all looking for second chances, O God, for oh so many reasons.  When we see what you can do, it
makes us want to fall to our knees in thanksgiving.  We are so blessed, inspired and know grace has especially come our way.

Blessed are you,
God Most Loving.
Thank you
for all
your generous gifts.
Help us
live up
to your hope
for us.

Love, Andrea
