Dear God,

Today was a day we were not sure would come.  We thought Lori, my cousin, would die with her diseased heart.  Because she had additional problems, she was considered high risk.  She was bedridden and only had a few weeks to live the doctor told us.  Yet, once she was on a transplant list, she was given a heart after only 38 days.   

Today family and friends gathered to give thanks and celebrate on her one-year anniversary.  And celebrate we did.  While we shared the story and the celebration which was wonderful, more than anything else, we gave thanks to you.

Blessed are you,

Loving and Compassionate God.
