Dear God,
For days the Black-eyed susan flower has stood in the antique Johnson's Liniment bottle on my kitchen table. The beautiful brown bud in the middle with golden-yellow petals reaching out proudly speaks of your amazing creative hand. I cut it and placed it there a few days ago when my daughter and granddaughter came to visit. It heard all our laughter, concerns and joys.
It is mind-boggling to me how you use ordinary, simple things to offer profound messages of daily hope and joy. Even as I gaze upon the single stem, I think of my family and the gifts they are to me and the love we shared right at this table. I am blessed.
Holy and Loving God,
thank you
for the
exquisite little flower
on my table.
Thank you
for her resilience
and beauty.
Thank you
for our
combined memory.
Love, Andrea
