Dear God,

There is something so mysterious about hidden things.  We may not even know they exist until they are uncovered.  When we find them, we are prodded to reflect upon them.  Sometimes they bring deeper questions.

A couple days ago my friend dug up an old, yellow, rubber racing car accompanied by its driver.  A child must have played with it many years ago on the hill down by the river.  In clearing an area for our spiritual path, the cherished toy was discovered.  Missing two wheels it may have abandoned or even lost.  As it sits on the back stoop of our home, I plan to wash it up and add to the collection of items we have dug up over the last decade on the property of our 200-year-old home.

I wonder what hidden things wait to be uncovered in my own life.

Great Revealing God,
thank you
for daily gifts
that prod us
to think
about life.
Thank you
for the
race car
and for
the child
that once
loved it.
Bless you.

Yours, Andrea
