Dear God,

Our nation is in an ungodly upheaval.  It is hard to trust any politician because way too many make up life as they go.  We are bombarded by lies, threats and manipulation.  Fear nips at our feet every day.

At the same time there are signs of your presence with us.  Story after story reminds us there are good people doing good things for troubled people.  Like the chef who sets up tables in war zones, poverty-ridden communities and cities and towns where stormy weather has claimed lives, homes and possessions.  He finds volunteers, provides food and cooks for hungry, fragile human beings.  He is the face of your son.

We do not have to go far to find you, Compassionate God.  You are always in breathing distance.

Almighty God.
