Dear God,

You stretch the human heart to make room for more love.  My granddaughter is about to give birth to a little boy, her second child.  But she is afraid she won't love the next baby as much as the first.  We as veteran moms know our capacity for love grows with each child.

You do that for us, O Lord, because you want us to love more.  You show us your love by creating more love in us.  There have been times you have asked me to love those whom I did not want to love like lying politicians.  You simply asked me to pray for them.  And what I have discovered is that I come to care more when I pray for someone.  Nothing should surprise us about you, O God.  Your gifts are beyond measure!

for loving us

and helping us

love others.

Show us

the way

of love

day after day.
