Dear God,

Every day the sun rises and sets, the moon comes out and goes back in and the stars appear, then disappear.  It is just as you direct.

What pattern and rhythm did you create for humans?  Are we to rise up and sit down, sleep and wake and eat and refrain from eating?  The writer of Ecclesiastes tells us there is a time and season for all things, a time for war and a time for peace, a time to grieve and a time to dance and a time to gather stones and to refrain from gathering stones.  Do we do what you want, Loving Creator?

How I wish I could be like the sun, moon and stars. I want to follow your lead, your call. I want to fulfill your will for me.  Yet, far to often, I fail miserably.  I just can't seem to break old habits that keep me from a meaningful spiritual and emotional rhythm.

Help me,

dear Lord,

help me

follow your will.

Remind me

your way

is always better.
