Dear God,
Fragrant purple lilacs dance in the wind just outside my study window. Their sweet scent reminds me of your love that is made visible year after year after year. We can count on those lovely blooms to burst out on the limbs and branches every spring. So like your love for us.
Why do we disregard, deny or diminish the significance of the reality of your living presence in the world? Why do we live lackluster lives without faith, hope or reverence? All we need to know is right in front of us smiling, dancing, singing, beautifying and inspiring.
Thank you
for blessing us
with your
living hope,
O God.
Thank you
for springtime
that always
reminds us
of your
holy, creative power
in human life.
Thank you
for speaking through
tiny lilac blossoms.
Yours, Andrea
