Dear God,

We fight so hard against events that cause us discomfort, stress and pain.  We get angry, sometimes resentful and oftentimes despairing.  If we are a people of the surface, this is all we will get.  We will keep circling around, never healing, never finding hope and never rising above the problem and its pain.

If, on the other hand, we regard the happening as an open door, we will discover creative solutions, new insights and perspectives and a deeper understanding of our ability to conquer, overcome or make new a wave for our future.  Every day we get to make a decision how we will respond to all that takes place in our lives.

Loving God,

thank you

for opening us

to new opportunities

for life,

joy and peace.

Walk us through

the hardships

that cause us pain.

Show us

the way

to peace.
