Dear God, 

We have the opportunity to skid along the surface of life, a simple path that doesn't really require much of anything.  By the end of our time, we will be able to look in the rearview mirror and see what life had been in our surface living.  

On the other hand, we can opt for something more.  We can choose to take a road that is not always simple or easy, sometimes even complicated but it can lead us to a more fruitful, transforming, exciting life that will be lived more in the depths, swerves, mountain climbing, turns and twists, downhill falls and potholes in the roads.  One look back and we will observe lessons learned, adventures made, creative slides, soaring high, swimming deep, sudden lifts and dramatic scenes, to name a few.  With many aha moments we can celebrate the beauty of something more.

Today is one of those days to make a decision which road we want to take.

Holy God,

you are

always calling

our name.

You invite us

to follow you

to many

unfamiliar places.

Lead us

where you

want us

to go.
