Dear God,

It is interesting how our spirits can rise when our minds are descending.  The trip to Madison was a quiet trip until we started driving the narrow road up to the ridge.  The switchback scared us to pieces in my big van but we kept climbing, tiny rocks flying up beneath the dirt, rocky and broken asphalt road.  When we finally pulled up to the very remote 1800's log cabin, we breathed a sigh of relief. It was later when we were settled that I realized the climb was an unspoken challenge to me.

It seems sometimes frightening challenges can cause us to think about deeper things like doubt, fear and sorrow.  As we reflect, we can see the way you take us by the hand and lift us higher and higher to the spiritual ridges that help us see above all that troubles us.  It also reminds us that you are our helper, comforter and guide for you lead us upward and through difficulties.  The most profound message that comes is the one that shouts, "You are not alone in your trial.  I am with you to help."

Such adventures and experiences occur in daily life if we have eyes and ears to anticipate your living presence.  For nothing gives us more joy and peace than you.

Holy and Merciful God,
we wait
for you.
Lead us
to the
next awakening.
Guide us
to step forward,
to listen,
learn and move.
We are full
of gratitude.

Yours forever, Andrea
