My dearest God,

I awakened this morning with thoughts rushing through my head. I sat up and wrote them down. As I looked at the list, I realized they were yet more life lessons that you have taught me. As a way to affirm my faith and give thanks for your patient understanding, I share them with you.

Steer your own life or others will steer it for you.
Healing is a choice.
The pathway to hope is healing.
Changing ourselves can lead to change in others.
Every situation can bring a life lesson.

I believe there is so much growth available to us if we take the invitation. I must admit that the greatest time of difficulty for me has wrought more life lessons than I could ever have imagined was possible. I guess that is the gift arising out of the Romans passage, "All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose."

You alone,
O God,
are the
power source
of our transformation.
You do not
leave us
in our pain
but rather
minister to us
by teaching us
life lessons.
Sorrow can
bring us
courage and strength.
Loss can
teach us
resilience and trust.
Injustice can
offer us
compassion and understanding.
All things
do work together
in your way
and in
your time.

Love, Andrea
